Effective Date: April 5, 2026
Last Updated: April 5, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DiskPort ("the App"), a macOS application developed by Jimmy Lv ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. License
DiskPort is licensed, not sold. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Mac computers that you own or control, subject to the terms of the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) and these Terms.
Free Version
The free version of DiskPort provides access to the storage map visualization and manual cleanup features. It may be used indefinitely without payment.
Pro Version
DiskPort Pro is available as a one-time in-app purchase of $9.99 (USD) through the Mac App Store. The Pro license is tied to your Apple ID and can be used on all Macs signed into that Apple ID, per Apple's standard licensing terms.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use DiskPort only for its intended purpose: managing and visualizing Xcode-related storage on macOS. You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App
- Use the App to develop a competing product
- Remove or modify any proprietary notices within the App
3. Data and File Operations
DiskPort performs file system operations including scanning, deleting, and relocating files and directories within Xcode's storage locations. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Your Responsibility
- Backup your data before performing any cleanup or relocation. While DiskPort is designed to operate safely, no software can guarantee zero risk of data loss.
- You are responsible for verifying that files selected for deletion or relocation are not critical to your workflow.
- You understand that deleting DerivedData will cause Xcode to rebuild projects from scratch on the next build.
Relocation and Symlinks
The Smart Relocate feature moves files to an external drive and creates symbolic links (symlinks) so Xcode continues to find them at the original path. You acknowledge that:
- If the external drive is disconnected, Xcode may fail to build until the drive is reconnected or the relocation is rolled back
- External drive failure may result in data loss that DiskPort cannot prevent or recover
- DiskPort provides a one-click rollback feature, but rollback depends on the relocated files still being intact on the external drive
Auto-Clean Rules
The auto-clean feature (Pro) can automatically delete DerivedData folders based on age thresholds you configure. You are responsible for setting appropriate thresholds and understanding that auto-deleted files cannot be recovered by DiskPort.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
- File operations will always complete successfully
- The App will be compatible with all macOS versions, Xcode versions, or file system configurations
- Storage size calculations will be 100% accurate (differences with Finder or
dumay occur due to macOS file system metadata)
5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App ($9.99 for Pro, or $0 for the free version).
6. Purchases and Refunds
All purchases are processed through the Mac App Store and are subject to Apple's Terms and Conditions.
- Refund requests must be submitted through Apple's Report a Problem page
- Apple handles all refund decisions per their standard policy (generally within 14 days of purchase)
- We do not process refunds directly, as we do not handle payment transactions
7. Updates
We may release updates to the App to fix bugs, improve performance, or add features. Updates are distributed through the Mac App Store. We are not obligated to provide updates, but we will endeavor to maintain compatibility with current macOS releases.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your license to use the App at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies from your devices.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
